Located just East of Downtown
is Denver's City Park. Every Sunday evening throughout the summer, the bandshell is
buzzing with the sounds of great jazz performers, local and national. While they take
plenty of license with the term "jazz" (local hip-hop combo Yo, Flaco! performed
a recent turn) this much is guaraneed: The music is always great.
And if you're looking for something else to do before the music gets going, you don't have
far to travel. The Museum of Natural History, an IMAX movie screen, the Planetarium and
the Denver Zoo all reside within City Park's boundaries, not to mention a great public
golf course and acres of open space suitable for a slew of different sports.
